Resilient Bar Ceiling System

Thickness +/-40mm – Compatible with Timber construction

The Resilient Bar Ceiling System is an ideal sound insulation system that is compatible with a variety of different ceilings, with concrete ceilings being the sole exception. Whether it’s utilised to improve soundproofing, sound insulation or enrich acoustic performance, the Resilient Bar Ceiling System serves as a cost-effective means of achieving your goals. The Resilient Bar Ceiling System is specifically designed to act as a solution for soundproofing issues when you have a restriction to the amount of ceiling height loss that you can afford to lose, as the existing ceiling will be removed.

Working wonders as a means of providing sound insulation for improving both impact and airborne noise, the Resilient Bar Ceiling System offers acoustic insulation as a form of a soundproofing suspended ceiling, hampering impact and airborne noise that has been transmitted between two properties, all whilst also providing some additional improvement to thermal insulation. As the name suggests, the Resilient Bar Ceiling System solution consists of a resilient bar, enhanced with specially designed 100mm RS60 rock wool, a 19mm sound plank and 12.5mm of sound shield acoustic plasterboard.

By making efficient use of high-density materials in tandem with a suspended ceiling design and a focus on sound insulation, the Resilient Bar Ceiling System offers acoustic insulation and soundproofing solutions to virtually any environment.

The Soundproofing R Us guys were simply incredible. Great communication from Ryan to provide me with the best options available to me, and always keeping me on the same page about next steps and appointments. The installers were amazing, super professional and very nice guys. Although I live in a flat, they carried all the heavy material upstairs. They laid down floor protectors to ensure that my house floors weren't damaged and cleaned up everything after they were finished with the job. Couldn't have been happier with my experience with Soundproofing R Us I highly recommend them.

Surprised to see some of the reviews on here as I had an entirely positive experience with Soundproofing R Us. They did an excellent job soundproofing our ceiling in a Victorian converted flat and were absolutely professional throughout. The hundreds of positive reviews on Checkatrade say it all. I suspect some of these reviewers are not real customers.

DB Board is a high-density sand filled board which can help to reduce both Airborne and Impact noise. These boards are 15mm thick and have a corrugated sand filled carcass. The DB board can be used on floors, walls and ceilings and has both soundproofing and thermal properties (on timber or steel framed structures).
MLV50 is a 2.5mm thick rubber sheet adding 5kg per square meter. The membrane is made from recycled materials and works as an excellent barrier to airborne noise.

Green Glue is layered between the two layers of board. The science behind green glue is that when soundwaves hit the glue, it disperses these vibrations into smaller vibrations within the boards. These then shear along the two sides of the boards, causing friction and the glue to changes these vibrations into heat. The heat dissipates, which reduces the vibration. This conversion of energy from sound vibration to heat is called damping and this is what lays at the core of this product.
